Why The Toronto Raptors Do The Deal
Generally, there’s an interesting debate to have about the Raptors. Should they get a center, or continue running a group of big wings with guard skills?
Can’t it be both?
After all, Towns is effectively an off-guard in a big man’s body. He’d allow the Raptors to retain their philosophy of having big playmakers at every position, and also give them a true center at the same time.
Granted, Towns is not a strong rim protector. In fact, that’s why the Wolves acquired Gobert in the first place. Still, with Pascal Siakam and Scottie Barnes alongside him in the front court, Towns should be ok.
After all, three all be plenty of perimeter defense and weak side rim protection to minimize his weaknesses.

Perhaps most importantly, Towns should also become the Raptors’ top-scoring option. All told, this team could be special – provided they can all get along, of course.
