Why The Chicago Bulls Do The Deal 

Once again, a flagrant tank job is not an option for the Bulls this year. Only a covert Magic fan could suggest they entertain the notion. 

With that in mind, the Bulls shouldn’t jump to make this trade. If they get off to a strong start this season, they should hang onto this core group. On the other hand, a slow start could inspire them to shake things up. 

This deal could be the right way to do it. They’re getting two quality players who are younger than LaVine here.

Anunoby is a particularly good get – if he has untapped playmaking potential, the Bulls would give him an opportunity to explore it.

Still, the draft capital counts here too. An unprotected pick in the 2023 draft is a hot commodity, even if it’s coming from a team the Bulls are improving. Moreover, who knows if that 2025 pick swap comes in handy?
