Why The Washington Wizards Do The Deal 

There are no secrets here. The Wizards are doing this deal for Victor Wembanyama. 

Or, of course, Scoot Henderson, Cam Whitmore, Amen Thompson, or any of the outstanding prospects in the upcoming draft. They’re doing this deal to tank. 

Granted, that’s not a route this organization is familiar with. Now is the time to make an exception. The Wizards haven’t been even a fringe contender since John Wall’s prime. Moreover, if they were ever going to bottom out, this would be the draft class to do it for. 

Furthermore, the Wizards would have a ready-made co-star for whoever they selected in Bradley Beal. He’s looked overtaxed as a primary offensive option for the Wizards, but he’d likely be the best second option in the NBA.
