2. Toronto Raptors
The Toronto Raptors showed last season just how dangerous of a team they are. Despite many people believing they were in for a rebuilding season, they earned the No. 5 seed in the Eastern Conference.
While they were knocked out in the first round by the Philadelphia 76ers, this is a dangerous team that has a very high ceiling.
However, the roster is top-heavy. Their starting five is excellent with Precious Achiuwa and now Otto Porter Jr. coming off the bench. However, beyond that, things get shaky.
They could use some more size and will likely be on the search for a center that can match up with the other bigs in the Eastern Conference. The bench also needs an upgrade. Porter was a good start but they could use more.
LATEST NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Jordan Clarkson, Utah Jazz & Toronto Raptors Updates
Enter, Jordan Clarkson. Toronto had the lowest-scoring bench in the NBA last season as they lacked a punch beyond the starters. Clarkson would change that immediately, giving them a microwave player that can check in and score in bunches.
The Toronto Raptors’ depth behind Fred VanVleet is also a concern that Clarkson would help minimize. Right now Malachi Flynn is the only backup on the roster, something that isn’t ideal for the marathon known as the NBA regular season.
