When the Rockets acquired Russell Westbrook, they faced the same questions about the functionality of their backcourt. What would Westbrook do when Harden had the ball?
The fit proved to be as clunky as some feared. Midway through the season, the Rockets traded (ironically) Clint Capela in exchange for Robert Covington, shifting the 6’5 P.J. Tucker to the 5 spot.
Offensively, it worked. With four-out spacing surrounding their backcourt, suddenly, Westbrook’s poor spacing was a non-issue.

Granted, they lost in the first round of the playoffs, but if Tucker had been 7 feet tall, we might be questioning the validity of their bubble championship to this day.
