Why The Phoenix Suns Do The Deal
It hasn’t taken long for the Phoenix Suns to look like they are unraveling.
On their annual Media Day, Deandre Ayton made it clear that he’s not happy with how Suns coach Monty Williams has been handling their relationship — stating they haven’t talked since their Western Conference Semifinals series against the Dallas Mavericks.
Significant criticism was placed on Ayton for a lack of effort in a pivotal Game 7 against the Mavericks, which ultimately was a massive 123-90 blowout loss for Phoenix.
There has even been reporting that Ayton blames team-owner Robert Sarver for the reluctance in offering a max contract during his restricted free agency. Ayton had to instead sign an offer sheet with the Indiana Pacers to get Phoenix to match.
