Indiana Pacers Receive: C Richaun Holmes, G/F Furkan Korkmaz, G/F Matisse Thybulle, F/C Chimeze Metu, 2023 First-Round Pick (Swap – SAC)
Sacramento Kings Receive: F Tobias Harris
Philadelphia 76ers Receive: F Harrison Barnes, G/F Buddy Hield

Of course, this wouldn’t be the first time the Kings and Pacers made a significant trade. In fact, they did so recently.

At last year’s trade deadline, the Kings sent Tyrese Haliburton to the Indiana Pacers in exchange for Domantas Sabonis. For both teams, this was an attempt to rewrite their history.

For the Kings, the intention was to make a playoff run in 2022-23. They moved a promising young player in exchange for an impactful veteran. Given the promise Halliburton showed after moving to Indiana, they’d better hope it works.

By contrast, the Pacers may have finally come to terms with their need to rebuild with that move. Haliburton is a special talent, but he’s young.

In all likelihood, he won be ready to impact winning like Sabonis does in 2022-23.

If the Pacers aren’t concerned with their record next season, is this the right move for them?
