History always repeats itself. If you haven’t noticed, you’re not listening. That’s as true in the NBA as it is anywhere else. If you’ve closely followed a team for years, you’ve probably noticed trends. Some teams tend to build around big men, while some prefer guards.

Some teams are content with a long-term rebuilding process, while others avoid “tanking” like the plague. 

For example, look at the Indiana Pacers. It’s very rare for the Pacers to be outside of the league’s playoff picture. On the other hand, they’re seldom regarded as major players in the championship race, either. for the Pacers, slow and steady seems to be the *ahem* pace. 

Unfortunately, the Sacramento Kings’ history is a little bleaker. They tend to miss the playoffs, period. In fact, their current 16-year playoff drought is the longest in the NBA. In 2022-23, they’ll be looking to rewrite that history.

Finally, the Philadelphia 76ers have a complicated history. They’ve fielded some great teams, but at the same time, the last time they even made the Conference Finals, the Kings were a perennial playoff performer.
