Anthony Edwards is tired of being compared to NBA legend Michael Jordan. The Minnesota Timberwolves superstar told FOX Sports on Monday that he wants the parallels to stop, saying, “He’s the greatest of all time. I can’t be compared to him.”
Edwards’ high-flying dunks and smooth mid-range game have drawn inevitable comparisons to Jordan, but he insists he’s carving his own path. “I want to be my own player, not just a carbon copy of someone else,” Edwards said.
Mike Conley echoed the sentiment, telling Inside the NBA that Edwards reminds him of a young Jordan. “He’s got that same swagger, that same confidence,” Conley said. Even Jordan himself has acknowledged the similarities, according to FOX Sports’ Chris Broussard.

But Edwards is focused on the Timberwolves’ playoff run, not living up to Jordan’s legacy. And what a run it’s been – Edwards is averaging 33.4 points and 7.8 rebounds per game in the postseason, shooting 53.2% from the field and 43.6% from 3-point range. Minnesota is a perfect 5-0 in the playoffs, and Edwards is determined to keep it that way.
“I just want to win,” Edwards said. “I’m not worried about comparisons. I’m worried about getting the job done on the court.”
Edwards’ playoff performance has been nothing short of spectacular. He’s taken his game to new heights, showcasing a level of athleticism and skill that has drawn rave reviews from fans and analysts alike.
