Realistically, this is a slam dunk for the Cavaliers. If the Grizzlies offered it, they couldn’t say no. 

That’s not to say that losing Love wouldn’t sting. It would. He’s their last link to their 2014-15 championship, and an integral member of this organization. 

This is still the right move for Cleveland. That’s not an indictment on Love. Instead, it’s a reflection of how badly the Cavaliers need a small forward. 

Brooks would fit right in as the starter. He’s an excellent perimeter defender and a sufficient floor spacer.

Moreover, Brooks is deceptively good at generating his own offense when asked to do so. All told, he’d be too perfect of an addition to this team for them to pass up on.
