Why The Utah Jazz Do The Deal
There’s no mystery for the Utah Jazz here. Landing the Lakers’ available first-round picks is a no-brainer.
After all, we already know general manager Danny Ainge wants to build through the draft. He brokered the trade that effectively popularized the star-for-picks model when he sent Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce to the Brooklyn Nets in 2013.
It looks like “Trader Danny” is up to his old tricks. This summer, Ainge has accumulated a combined seven first-round picks and two swaps for Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell combined. The Jazz have all the pieces they need to get a quality rebuild underway.
It won’t happen instantly. In all likelihood, Jazz fans are in for a long process here. With that said, when it’s completed, it should bear significant proof. At least, if fate goes their way.

Again, the Jazz have solidified themselves to undergo a full rebuilding effort, and furthering the cause should be their top priority. Parting with Bojan Bogdanovic and Mike Conley would help.
