The New York Knicks made some strides this NBA offseason when it comes to upgrading the roster. Their biggest splash was signing Jalen Brunson away from the Dallas Mavericks in free agency to address their glaring need at the point guard spot.
Brunson will fill a void they have seemingly had since Walt Frazier was running the offense and leading the team to championships. In addition to Brunson, the team modernized their frontcourt with the addition of Isaiah Hartenstein, who brings a different look to the center spot than Mitchell Robinson.
But, this is a team that could still use another trade to finalize the roster. There are only so many minutes for head coach Tom Thibodeau to hand out and right now, New York has too many players for those minutes.
Consolidating the roster would make sense as finding consistent roles for players right now is easier said than done. While they did make a splash signing bringing in Brunson, some people are concerned about his fit as a traditional point guard.
