Sacramento Kings Receive: F Julius Randle, G Derrick Rose, F Cam Reddish, 2023 First-Round Pick (via DAL), 2025 First-Round Pick (via MIL)
The New York Knicks should still be scouring the trade market for a deal to make that results in them flipping a rotation piece or two. That is exactly what they accomplish in this deal with the Sacramento Kings, making their team younger and guaranteeing playing time for all of those young, core pieces.
Coming over to New York as the headliner is De’Aaron Fox. There will certainly be some questions about the fix alongside Jalen Brunson, but there are some very good undersized guard combinations in the league so it is workable if they can improve defensively.
Coming along with Fox is Terence Davis and Alex Len. Both provide more depth on the wing and in the frontcourt in case Tom Thibodeau has to dig deep into his bench.
Headlining the package going to the Kings is Julius Randle. Desperate to make a run at the postseason, Sacramento is hoping that Mike Brown can unlock something that results in Randle playing as well as he did during the 2020-21 season.

Joining Randle is Derrick Rose, who will provide some veteran leadership to the roster. He is a good mentor for Davion Mitchell to learn from. Cam Reddish further upgrades the wing depth, something the Kings attacked hard this offseason.
The Knicks are also sending two first-round picks, one via the Dallas Mavericks in 2023 and one via the Milwaukee Bucks, to the Kings. How does this deal impact each team? Let’s take a look at it from both of their perspectives, starting with the Knicks.
