Why The Utah Jazz Do The Deal 

Certainly. Recently, rumors have suggested that the Jazz feel deserving of a first-round pick for each of Bogdanovic, Conley, and Clarkson.

Similarly, some people feel they deserve to make one million dollars per hour. It doesn’t mean it’s going to happen. 

In an abstract sense, the Jazz are getting 1.5 first-round picks for Bogdanovic and 0.5 for Conley here. It feels funny to say that – it wasn’t long ago that Conley was an All-Star. Life happens quickly in the National Basketball Association. The market for old, small point guards is a dry one. 

If this deal is on the table, the Jazz should take it and run. Landing two distant first-round picks from an aging Lakers squad is especially valuable – there’s no reason to assume the Lakers will avoid the lottery this far into the future.
