2. Terrence Ross, Orlando Magic
The Orlando Magic are in a full-blown rebuild once again. This process started ahead of the 2021 NBA trade deadline when they parted ways with almost all of their key veterans on the roster.
Nikola Vucevic was traded to the Chicago Bulls. Aaron Gordon was sent to the Denver Nuggets. Evan Fournier shipped up to Boston. Terrence Ross was the lone veteran left standing from that core and he remains on the team now.
Terrence Ross struggled mightily last season, averaging 10 points per game, his fewest in a season since the 2017-18 campaign. He had the worst shooting season of his career as well, making only 29.2 percent of his 3-point attempts. His 3-point percentage has dropped for three consecutive seasons, which is concerning to a degree.
But, before that, Ross was consistently one of the better sixth men in the NBA. A contending team could take a shot on him at a discount, as he is also on an expiring contract and likely wouldn’t cost more than a future second-round pick at this point.

A bounce back is certainly within the realm of possibilities. Playing for his next contract, Terrence Ross knows that he has to improve if he wants to land a lucrative deal next offseason. Being part of a contending team could also help get his performance back on track as he would be motivated with something to play for; Orlando hasn’t been competitive since the 2019-20 season.
