New Orleans Pelicans
Utah Jazz Receive: G Devonte’ Graham, F/C Larry Nance Jr., G/F Dyson Daniels, G/F Herb Jones, 2023 First-Round Pick (LAL via NOP), 2024 First-Round Pick (MIL via NOP), 2025 First-Round Pick (NOP)
New Orleans Pelicans Receive: G Donovan Mitchell
Of every deal listed here, this one might be the most intriguing. Realistically, either side could find a reason to reject this one.
The Jazz are receiving fewer picks here than they do elsewhere. Knowing general manager Danny Ainge’s preferences, that may be an issue. Meanwhile, the New Orleans Pelicans could be apprehensive about pairing two small guards in their backcourt. There would certainly be defensive concerns around a Mitchell/McCollum pairing.
On the other hand…
The Jazz shouldn’t be too hung up on draft capital here. Daniels is a recent lottery pick who hasn’t played an NBA minute yet – if the Jazz see a world where they might have selected him, he’s not much different from landing a pick.

Meanwhile, Herb Jones was one of the best defensive rookies we’ve seen in a long time last season. He could have easily been picked in the lottery in hindsight.
Meanwhile, the New Orleans Pelicans could just opt to go all-in on offense. Between their new backcourt, Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram and Jonas Valanciunas, they’d be looking an awful lot like a superteam. They may be so able to outscore teams that they don’t even need to stop them.
