The Charlotte Hornets find themselves in an interesting position in 2022.
It’s not necessarily a bad one. They have a clear-cut franchise player in LaMelo Ball. That alone sets them apart from other franchises. At the same time, all is not necessarily well either.
In particular, their plans were rocked by some unfortunate news regarding Miles Bridges this summer. Given that he’s facing domestic abuse charges, his NBA career is rightfully in question.
It feels wrong to trivialize a serious issue in the context of how it impacts an NBA team. Domestic abuse is horrific, but we digress.
