Primarily, the pairing didn’t work on the defensive end. Rostering one small guard can be trouble enough on that side of the ball. Pairing two is a recipe for trouble, no matter what their combined offensive prowess may be.
The Blazers seem to have identified that. McCollum is now a member of the New Orleans Pelicans.
