The Indiana Pacers may be rebuilding, but if this franchise’s history is any indication, they may not be doing so for long. 

After all, the Pacers generally resist long-term rebuilding processes. As a small market team, they normally opt to stay competitive. Here’s the rub: this deal may actually help them do that, while also aiding their rebuild. 

Tobias Harris is a ceiling raiser. He won’t drag your team to the playoffs on his own, but he will help them once they get there.

The Pacers, conceivably, could bottom out for one year, nab a blue-chip prospect, and get right back to the playoffs in 2023-24.
