Washington Wizards Receive: G Donovan Mitchell
Utah Jazz Receive: F Kyle Kuzma, F Rui Hachimura, G Johnny Davis, F Deni Avdija, 2027 First-Round Swap, 2028 First-Round Pick, 2029 First-Round Pick Swap
This is about as good of a package as the Washington Wizards can put together to present to the Utah Jazz. It likely falls short of what other teams can offer, but there is one route that Washington can take to boost this up.
The Wizards could call the Knicks, who own their protected first-round pick and offer something to take the protections off. That would certainly be risking sending an unprotected pick to the Knicks, but it would allow the Wizards to send first-rounders in 2025, 2027 and 2029 to the Jazz for Donovan Mitchell.
If not, Washington can try and compensate for the lack of draft capital with numerous recent first-round picks.
Rui Hachimura is entering the final season of his rookie deal, while Deni Avdija has two seasons remaining and Johnny Bryant was just selected No. 10 overall in the 2022 NBA Draft.

Kyle Kuzma is added to help match salary and is essentially an expiring contract. He has a player option for the 2023-24 season and with how well he has played recently, it would be surprising if he doesn’t decline that in search of a long-term deal.
How does this deal impact each team? Let’s take a look at it from both of their perspectives, starting with the Wizards.
