The Utah Jazz got back to the negotiating table this past weekend to discuss potential trade options centered around three-time NBA All-Star, Donovan Mitchell. While the New York Knicks remain the team that they have had the most discussion with, they are far from the only franchise that is looking to get involved.
The Charlotte Hornets and Washington Wizards are two other potential suitors. As is the situation with the Knicks, all three teams are looking to climb the ladder in what has become a very competitive Eastern Conference in the last few years.
It is a little bit surprising to see the Wizards on the list of potential suitors as they have already made a huge commitment to Bradley Beal this offseason. Beal agreed to a supermax with the Wizards and got all the perks including a 15 percent trade kicker and a full no-trade clause.
Beal is one of the best shooting guards in the NBA, which is the same position that Mitchell plays. However, both players have been improving as playmakers and could conceivably co-run the offense, taking turns playing the point guard role depending on matchups.
