After a few quiet weeks in the NBA following the Las Vegas Summer League, the trade market is ready to heat back up. While Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets have dominated headlines, the Utah Jazz have also re-engaged in trade talks centered on Donovan Mitchell.
The Jazz have started fresh conversations with the New York Knicks according to Shams Charania and Tony Jones of The Athletic. However, they are not the only team that is going to be pursuing the 3-time All-Star.
One of the potential suitors is the Charlotte Hornets. Charlotte has been on the right path the last few seasons, making the NBA Play-In Tournament both years it has been in existence. However, they have been blown out in both games by the Indiana Pacers and Atlanta Hawks.
Adding some more firepower to the lineup would certainly help get them over the hump. Mitchell would certainly provide that, as he is one of the best shooting guards in the NBA with how easily he can score the ball and his developing playmaking skills.

Acquiring him from the Jazz, however, will not be easy. Utah has a sky-high asking price as Danny Ainge is looking to squeeze as much value as possible out of this deal. He has already acquired five first-round picks this offseason and is looking to potentially double that in a Mitchell deal.
