The 2022 offseason has been a tough one in Buzz City. The head coach they targeted to replace James Borrego, Kenny Atkinson, didn’t even last a week before he changed his mind and returned to the Golden State Warriors staff as an assistant.

Things only got worse, as Miles Bridges found himself in trouble off the court as he was charged with felony domestic violence and child abuse. His basketball career is up in the air as the Charlotte Hornets may lose their leading scorer from last season.

Needing to figure something out at the power forward position, the team could show some interest in Jonathan Isaac. While Isaac isn’t the offensive force that Bridges is, that isn’t something that Charlotte necessarily needs.

The Charlotte Hornets have an explosive offensive team led by LaMelo Ball at the point guard position. Terry Rozier is a capable scorer, and when healthy, Gordon Hayward can do a little bit of everything offensively. What the Hornets need to take that next step is to improve on defense, which Isaac would help them do immediately.

Isaac would provide them with another stopper on that end of the court, combining with Rozier to lock down the perimeter. Rozier is a tenacious defender who can compete against players at both guard positions while Isaac can defend wings and frontcourt players alike.

Playing alongside a point guard of Ball’s caliber could help him unlock some potential on the offensive side as well. With no clear-cut options to replace Bridges currently on the roster, exploring some trade options would make sense.
