These 3 Teams Should Monitor Jonathan Isaac Trade

Jonathan Isaac, Orlando Magic, NBA Trade Rumors
NBA Analysis Network

The Orlando Magic are patiently awaiting the return of Jonathan Isaac to the court. Isaac has missed the last two seasons because of a torn ACL suffered while playing in the NBA Bubble in August of 2020.

Heading into the pandemic-shortened 2020-21 season, Isaac signed a four-year, $70 million extension. As a result of missing games played thresholds, because he has not played a minute yet, his contract now includes non-guaranteed money. His contract is partially guaranteed for $16 million in the upcoming season, $7.6 million for the 2023-24 campaign and fully non-guaranteed for 2024-25.

Since he last was on the court, a lot has changed with the roster. Orlando is in the midst of a new rebuild, bringing in a lot of high-upside young talent that will hopefully make up their future core. Terrence Ross is the only veteran remaining from the team when Isaac was last playing.

Wendell Carter Jr. was acquired from the Chicago Bulls in the Nikola Vucevic trade ahead of the 2021 deadline. Mo Bamba signed an extension this offseason and Paolo Banchero was selected No. 1 overall in the 2022 NBA Draft.
