The Los Angeles Lakers are stuck between a rock and a hard place when it comes to upgrading their roster. They need to make changes to get the team back on track and contend once again for championships. However, they are lacking tradable assets to get that done.
There isn’t much talent on the roster they can move to bring back much value. They are also lacking in draft capital and have been hesitant to include two first-round picks to move on from Russell Westbrook.
But, that hesitancy could stem from not getting back pieces they feel are worthwhile. Would the Los Angeles Lakers see someone such as Jonathan Isaac being worth that price included in a package with other players?
Los Angeles needs an infusion of talent in the worst way. Isaac has immense potential but the injury concerns are real. The Lakers may not want to take on the risk of another injury-prone player, but at this point, do they really have a choice? Beggars can’t be choosers and the purple and gold need talent.

Isaac, should he prove capable of staying healthy, would also be a long-term building block for the team. He will be 25 when the season begins, providing the Los Angeles Lakers with a player they can make the foundation of their roster as they begin preparing for life after LeBron James.
