Why The Dallas Mavericks Do The Deal
Without question, this is a high-risk, high-reward move for the Dallas Mavericks.
In theory, Isaac is the perfect fit for this team. A glance at their roster reveals a gap in terms of defensive wings. Dorian Finney-Smith is good, but realistically, that’s about the extent of their players who’d fit that description.
Simply put, that won’t do. In 2022, teams need multiple defensive wings. It’s a formula that’s accounted for a great deal of playoff success in the modern era. The Mavericks, in comparison to the competition, come up short.
With that said, Isaac won’t alleviate that concern from the bench. On the other hand, Bertans won’t alleviate it on the court.

The Mavericks may hesitate to take on the risk of landing Isaac, but they sure could use a player with his skill set. In our eyes, they ought to bite the bullet and offer up a first-rounder to the Magic for him this summer.
