Why The Orlando Magic Do The Deal
Patience is a finite resource. Granted, any NBA team would prefer to be able to wait for their best players to pan out. With that said, they won’t always be willing to do so.
If the Orlando Magic are ready to cut ties with Isaac, we wouldn’t blame them. Year after year, they hope to put him on the floor, and every year, those hopes are dashed.
There are other reasons to move him, as well. It’s been reported that Isaac has struggled to get along with teammates. Furthermore, he doesn’t project as a great alongside recent number one overall pick Paolo Banchero.
After all, two ball-dominant, poor-shooting big wings don’t make for a natural pairing. Of course, Orlando could try to make it work. Still, in light of all the other information we have, why should they bother?

If their patience with Isaac has run out, they should be happy to acquire a first-round pick for him. Given his injury history, that should be above his market value.
