Utah Jazz Receive: G/F Ben Simmons, G/F Gary Trent Jr., F/C Precious Achiuwa, 2025 First-Round Pick (TOR), 2027 First-Round Pick (TOR)
Brooklyn Nets Receive: G Donovan Mitchell, 2023 First-Round Pick (TOR), 2026 First-Round Pick (Swap – TOR), 2028 First-Round Pick (Swap – TOR)
Toronto Raptors Receive: F Kevin Durant

Many observers are expecting both Kevin Durant and Donovan Mitchell to get moved this summer. Could they end up in the same transaction?

Making it happen isn’t necessarily easy. The Nets would have to trade Ben Simmons as well. The CBA doesn’t allow teams with a player on a max rookie extension to acquire a player on another. Mitchell and Simmons both meet that criteria.

If the Jazz are interested in Simmons, this deal is interesting. The Nets may not need to stress the draft capital they owe the Rockets with Mitchell in the mix: acquiring Mitchell should keep them competitive.

Finally, the Raptors get their man without sacrificing any of Barnes, Siakam, or VanVleet. In that context, landing Durant will make them serious title contenders in 2022-23.
