Brooklyn Nets Receive: F OG Anunoby, G/F Gary Trent Jr., F/C Precious Achiuwa, 2023 First-Round Pick (TOR), 2024 First-Round Pick (Swap – TOR), 2025 First-Round Pick (TOR), 2026 First-Round Pick (Swap – TOR), 2027 First-Round Pick (TOR), 2028 First-Round Pick (Swap – TOR)
Toronto Raptors Receive: F Kevin Durant
If Scottie Barnes is off the table, this is the only deal that makes sense between these two teams that makes sense.
Pascal Siakam should be a non-starter for the Raptors. If they’re trading for Kevin Durant, they’ll need to provide him with a co-star. In Siakam’s absence, they won’t have a very credible one left to speak of.
This, naturally, brings us to Fred VanVleet. He’s very good. Still, he’s not likely a very attractive piece for the Nets in their situation. VanVleet is a 28-year-old undersized guard. He’d be a great third option if the Raptors did land Durant, but for a team starting over, he has minimal value.
On the other hand, this feels like decent value from the Nets’ point of view. They’re receiving three first-round picks and three pick swaps in addition to two quality young players here.

With that said, the Nets do have a right to be picky here. They are, after all, trading Kevin Durant. If this deal doesn’t appeal to them, they may have to bring a third team into the mix.
