The Toronto Raptors may be primarily linked to Durant, but in all actuality, a Donovan Mitchell trade may be more fitting for this organization.
In many ways, the Raptors are at a crossroads. Barnes is an obvious building block. At the same time, Pascal Siakam and Fred VanVleet are both squarely in their primes at 28. They’re fresh off a season that saw them eliminated n the first round of the playoffs as the 5th seed.
Is this team contending or rebuilding?
Acquiring Mitchell allows them to bridge that gap. Furthermore, he fills a team need. He’d instantly become the best scorer on this team. Granted, he and VanVleet would make for an undersized, defensively questionable backcourt.
