Lately, two players dominate the NBA news cycle. Until one of Kevin Durant or Donovan Mitchell gets moved, that will continue to be the case.
Each player has had many teams linked to them as potential suitors. Of course they have – we’re talking about two of the league’s brightest stars. Over half of the NBA’s teams would have an interest in either one of these players.
With that said, some teams have factored more prominently into rumors than others. For example, the Toronto Raptors have been heavily linked to Kevin Durant.
At the same time, it feels like those discussions have stalled. Allegedly, the Raptors would be unwilling to include Scottie Barnes in any package.
Frankly, we don’t blame them. Kevin Durant is 33, and Scottie Barnes is the reigning Rookie of the Year. Mortaging off so much of the future for 1-2 years of Durant’s prime would be a difficult risk to stomach.

On the other hand, the Raptors likely wouldn’t have to part with Barnes to add Donovan Mitchell.
Of course, they’ll still pay a hefty price for his services.
