Some will suggest that the Nets would be insane to trade any more draft capital. To be sure, they’re running dangerously low on it.
At the same time, if they’re hoping to get value for Irving, it could be a necessary evil.
Furthermore, Turner should be an especially enticing target for the Nets. As we alluded to, they own their draft picks (whether outright or via swap) to the Houston Rockets up to 2027. For that reason, bottoming out to rebuild is not a desirable avenue for this squad.
Myles Turner should help them avoid it. His fit as a stretch big man is perfect alongside Ben Simmons. Turner would offset his inability to space the floor, and they could make for one of the best defensive tandems in the NBA.
