Dallas Mavericks Receive: G Coby White
Chicago Bulls Receive: G Josh Green, G Frank Ntilikina, Two Future Second-Round Picks
This hypothetical trade between the Dallas Mavericks and Chicago Bulls will give former first-round picks some fresh starts in new cities. Every player involved in this deal is going to be 24 years of age or younger when the 2022-23 season tips off.
The Bulls had been shopping Coby White, the No. 7 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, for the duration of the offseason. Eligible for an extension this offseason, they were packaging him with the No. 18 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, but no deal was made. Dalen Terry out of Arizona was selected with the pick.
But, instead of including draft compensation with White, they are receiving some in this deal. Josh Green, the No. 18 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, is the centerpiece of the player package. He hasn’t received extended run yet from the Mavericks but has the tools to become a solid two-way player.
Frank Ntikilina is involved in this deal to help match salary. Once the cap hold on Jalen Brunson is lifted, the trade will be eligible based on the league’s salary cap rules.
