This Mavs-Bulls Trade Sends Coby White To Dallas

The Dallas Mavericks are a team that could be active the remainder of the NBA offseason on the trade market. They have a bigger than anticipated hole to fill on their roster with Jalen Brunson departing in free agency.

For months it seemed like a forgone conclusion that he would re-sign with the Mavericks, especially after he played as well as he did during the postseason. He was their second-best player after Luka Doncic and helped the team out to a 2-1 lead when Doncic was sidelined to start the postseason.

Brunson agreed to a four-year deal with the New York Knicks to become their starting point guard, leaving a void in their lineup.

Filling that void will not be easy as the Mavericks don’t have money to spend in free agency. A trade is the only real avenue they can go down to have any chance of replacing that production.

A few players have been linked to Dallas, one being Collin Sexton of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Sexton would be a sign-and-trade deal and depending on how much he signs for would determine what the Mavericks have to send back. However, the Cavaliers haven’t been moved by any offers.
