How This Trade Impacts Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cleveland Cavaliers had a successful 2021-22 season despite the injuries to their backcourt. They already brought back one of those players, signing Ricky Rubio in free agency to a three-year deal. Will they do the same with Collin Sexton?
Sexton’s market has been ice cold, which is a good thing for the Cavaliers if they want to re-sign him. They will be able to get him closer to their price if an offer sheet isn’t going to come from anyone else in the league.
But, knowing that the Dallas Mavericks don’t have many options to replace Jalen Brunson, the Cavaliers could use this as a chance to upgrade their own roster.
Reggie Bullock would provide the team with the 3-and-D wing that they are lacking. There is hope that Isaac Okoro could eventually develop into that role, but right now, he isn’t a positive asset on the offensive side of the ball.

Bullock’s presence would provide J.B Bickerstaff another option to play a more traditional-looking lineup than by using three bigs in Jarrett Allen, Evan Mobley, and Lauri Markkanen.
Maxi Kleber would provide the team with some more versatility in the frontcourt as well. He can knock down 3-pointers and offers some rim protection. He played a big role in the postseason for the team off the bench, receiving more minutes than starting center Dwight Powell. His presence makes someone such as Kevin Love expendable should the Cavaliers need a big contract to match salaries in a trade.

The future first-round draft pick is a nice asset for Cleveland as well. They are ascending with their group of young players and having extra draft capital will make it easier to acquire established talent to help take them to the next level.
