Dallas Mavericks
Utah Jazz Receive: C Dwight Powell, G/F Josh Green, G Frank Ntilikina, 2025 First-Round Pick (DAL)
Dallas Mavericks Receive: F Bojan Bogdanovic
The Dallas Mavericks will need to find a way to replace Jalen Brunson’s shot creation after losing him in free agency to the New York Knicks. Along with that new hole to fill, surrounding Luka Doncic with as much defense and shooting as possible is a great recipe for success.
Targeting Bojan Bogdanovic in a trade gives them an option that helps in all three of those areas at once.
Bogdanovic gives the Dallas Mavericks another big body who can at least play passable perimeter defense and provide decent help on the interior. He’s also a perfect target for Luka on his drive and dishes, giving Doncic a near 40 percent deep shooter to find open behind the arc.
When the defense is loading up on Luka or on the bench taking a breather, Bogdanovic is capable of generating offense for himself and his teammates off the bounce, either on the perimeter or in the high and low posts.
The Jazz here take a flier on Josh Green, who could become a serviceable 3-and-D plus one day, and nab another first-round pick to add to their quickly-growing cache of draft capital.

Frank Ntilikina has struggled to find his niche in the league but could blossom with less pressure to succeed in Utah. Otherwise, he can combine with Dwight Powell’s expiring contract to take $14 million off of the books for the Jazz in the summer of 2023.
