This deal only makes sense if the Brooklyn Nets either keep Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving or at least trade them for comparably competitive, win-now pieces.
The previous statement also applies to the Royce O’Neal trade that the Nets already pulled, so it wouldn’t be exactly unprecedented if they pull the trigger on this deal before getting a real commitment from their star tandem.
If the Brooklyn Nets do plan on running it back with KD and Kai, they’ll need to add more reliable scoring and defense around their All-NBA duo. Bojan Bogdanovic would be a perfect tertiary scorer around them and would also be a comfortable fit alongside Ben Simmons.
Bogdanovic provides the elite marksmanship that they missed from the injured Joe Harris last season, except he brings more versatility to the game. The main area Bogdanovic is an upgrade is in the off-the-dribble shot creation department.
