Memphis Grizzlies
The 2022 NBA Playoffs saw the birth of a new rivalry. In their first-round, six-game series, the Memphis Grizzlies and the Minnesota Timberwolves delighted the NBA world with a wildly entertaining, highly competitive, and oftentimes sloppy slugfest.
A big character in that drama was none other than Patrick Beverley.
With Beverley now gone from the T-Wolves, this rivalry could die down rather suddenly. But Memphis poaching the two-way guard and offering him the opportunity to get vengeance on his former team would be all it would take to turn Minnesota-Memphis from a budding rivalry to a full-blown grudge match.
The fit also makes sense on the court, as well. With De’Anthony Melton now in Philly, the Memphis Grizzlies could use another defender in their backcourt to balance out Ja Morant’s electrifying offensive gifts.
