Chicago Bulls Receive: F Kevin Durant

The Chicago Bulls don’t have too many assets remaining as they spent a lot to upgrade the roster ahead of the 2021 NBA trade deadline and during the 2021 offseason. That resulted in them landing Nikola Vucevic, DeMar DeRozan, Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso to upgrade the roster.

In addition to those moves, the team has two lottery picks in Coby White and Patrick Williams at their disposal. They use the remaining assets they have in this scenario and go all-in, acquiring Kevin Durant.

The Bulls will have the best offensive trio in the NBA with Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan and Durant. No one is slowing that offense down as each is capable of carrying the load on any given night. Game planning on how to stop them is difficult enough, but with an elite playmaker such as Lonzo Ball leading the way, it is even tougher.

Those four players and Alex Caruso could make for an intriguing five-man lineup should Billy Donovan opt to go small. As their starting center, Chicago could opt to go with free-agent signing Andre Drummond with Tony Bradley as their backup.

Depth was an issue for the Bulls last season and they would need to add some pieces to round out this roster. But, that shouldn’t be an issue as veterans looking to chase a ring should line up to join this roster.

Brooklyn is receiving an excellent, blue-chip prospect in Patrick Williams and another solid young player in Coby White. Vucevic will help them remain competitive and could have the offense run through him as a good fit alongside Ben Simmons.

The Nets remain competitive while greatly improving their future outlook in this deal. This package from the Bulls could very well end up being the baseline for the best kind of offers that they receive.
