Brooklyn Nets Receive: F DeMar DeRozan, G Lonzo Ball, All Available First-Round Picks
Chicago Bulls Receive: F Kevin Durant
This is less likely to occur than the first hypothetical trade, but it is another trade package that the Chicago Bulls could put together. This one provides the Brooklyn Nets with two established players to keep them competitive immediately but provides them with even more support long-term.
The Stepien Rule could come into play, as NBA teams cannot trade away first-round picks in consecutive seasons. So, they could make it a pick swap in 2024, but according to Fanspo’s trade machine, the Bulls can send a 2023 first-round pick via the Portland Trail Blazers and then picks in 2024, 2026, 2027, 2028 and 2029.
After Rudy Gobert was traded for four first-round picks, only one of which had top-five protection and a pick swap, the Nets will ask for as many first-round picks as they are allowed to get.
Without Patrick Williams and Coby White being included in this deal, the Bulls send every first-round pick they are allowed and adjust the others to swaps accordingly.

DeMar DeRozan can be their new go-to player offensively, especially if Kyrie Irving is also traded away by Brooklyn. Lonzo Ball is great with the ball in his hands, but if the Nets retain Ben Simmons, Ball has at least shown that he can play off the ball and knock down some 3-pointers as a complement to Simmons.
This trade provides the Nets with a lot of flexibility in the future, as they will have some trade ammunition to reload the roster with a more established talent to start contending as soon as possible.
