1. Denver Nuggets
After the Denver Nuggets were eliminated from the 2022 NBA postseason, it was reported that they would waste no time looking to upgrade the roster. They had some players available in trade and the goal was to bring in talent around Nikola Jokic.
So far, the Nuggets have done exactly that. Christian Braun and Peyton Watson were selected in the first round of the 2022 NBA Draft. They traded Monte Morris and Will Barton to the Washington Wizards for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Ish Smith. In free agency, they signed Bruce Brown away from the Brooklyn Nets.
That is some major upgrade for the Denver Nuggets when it comes to the defensive end of the court on the wing, as Caldwell-Pope and Brown both get after it on that end of the court. On offense, they can provide some spacing with their 3-point shooting as well.
However, that big, blockbuster trade never materialized. Maybe Denver is biding their time, as they could easily be a dark horse in the Mitchell sweepstakes. The Nuggets can put together a very interesting package using either Jamal Murray or Michael Porter Jr. as the centerpiece of a deal.

Denver was on the cusp of contending before Murray and Porter suffered injuries. They are expected back and 100 percent healthy for the 2022-23 season, but the Denver Nuggets should still explore potentially upgrading as Mitchell could take their team to that next level.
