There have already been two players from the 2022 NBA All-Star game that have been traded this offseason in Dejounte Murray and Rudy Gobert. While the basketball world awaits a resolution to the Kevin Durant trade request, another All-Star in Donovan Mitchell could be on the move soon as well.

Mixed signals have been coming from the Utah Jazz since they began unloading key players in their rotation. Royce O’Neale was traded to the Brooklyn Nets for a 2023 first-round pick and Gobert was sent to the Minnesota Timberwolves for five players, four first-round picks and a pick swap.

To some, that signaled that Utah was embarking on a rebuild and Mitchell would be the next player on the move. While the Jazz was at first saying the moves were done to rebuild the roster around Mitchell, they are now more open to engaging in trade talks and listening to offers centered around him.

The asking price is sky-high at the moment, as the Gobert deal is likely a baseline for what they expect in return for Mitchell. A three-time All-Star and only 25 years old, it makes sense that the asking price would be at least as much, if not a little higher.
