New York Knicks Receive: F/C John Collins
Atlanta Hawks Receive: F/C Julius Randle, 2023 First-Round Pick (DAL)
Say what you will about the New York Knicks. Surely, they’ve been regularly mismanaged over the last 20 years. However, there’s one thing you can’t deny about this organization at the moment:
They’ve got a lot of draft capital.
So much, in fact, that it was difficult to choose which pick to send Atlanta’s way. The Knicks flipped their 11th pick in the 2022 draft for three protected future firsts. Given those protections, they’ll hold less value to the Hawks.
At the same time, the Knicks’ own 2023 selection felt like too valuable a chip. After all, they’re selling low on a former All-NBAer here as is.
