Why The Brooklyn Nets Do The Deal
It’s beginning to circulate that the Brooklyn Nets expect a young All-Star and three first-round picks in exchange for Kevin Durant. That seems like a reasonable price.
It also happens that this deal probably meets it. Still, it depends on who you’re talking to. If the Nets consider Simons a star, they may bite on this package.
They probably should consider him one. Simons was tremendous for the Blazers last year. He’s an athletic scorer who can create his own shot from three-point range. Furthermore, at 23, he’s got ample room to improve.
The Nets also land a blue-chip prospect in Shaedon Sharpe. Granted, he’s a bit of a mystery. Sharpe’s absence during what should have been his first college basketball season in Kentucky last year left scouts scratching their heads.
