Brooklyn Nets Receive: F/C Jaren Jackson Jr., F/C Brandon Clarke, F Ziare Williams, 2023 First-Round Pick (MEM), 2025 First-Round Pick (MEM), 2027 First-Round Pick (MEM), 2029 First-Round Pick (MEM)
Memphis Grizzlies Receive: F Kevin Durant
Unfortunately, Jaren Jackson Jr. is slated to miss 4-6 months to begin the 2022-23 season. In other words, Rockets fans would be celebrating in the wake of this deal.
It would probably require the Nets to bottom out for a season or two. With that said, it may set them up for the future better than any of the trades. If the Nets were interested in future-focused assets, they’d be getting a lot of them here.
After all, Kevin Durant will be turning 40 in 2029. He’s not likely to even be in the NBA by the time the last pick here conveys. Realistically, these picks increase exponentially in value with every season that passes.
Of course, the Nets aren’t strictly getting a massive haul of picks for Durant here. Once Jackson Jr. heals, he’s one of the most promising young big men in the league. Brandon Clarke is a solid, 25-year-old combo big who plays with effort on both ends of the floor. Finally, soon-to-be-sophomore Ziare Williams has high upside as well.
LATEST NBA NEWS AND TRADE RUMORS: Brooklyn Nets’ Kevin Durant Trade Wish-List: Phoenix Suns No. 1, Miami Heat No. 2
If the Nets did want to go the rebuilding route, this is the deal for them of all the trades we’ve listed thus far. As for the Grizzlies, they’ll have a solid supporting cast remaining behind a dynamic duo of Ja Morant and Kevin Durant. They’d be in the mix for the NBA title in 2022-23.
