The entire landscape of the NBA is about to be changed with Kevin Durant requesting a trade from the Brooklyn Nets. The last three seasons have been tumultuous and he seems to have reached his breaking point this offseason.
This will be one of the most significant trade negotiations in the history of the NBA as Durant is starting a four-year, fully guaranteed extension this season. That means anyone who acquires Durant will be getting him for at least the next four seasons as he has no player options in his contract.
That means that it will be expensive to land him, which is understandable. Durant is one of the best players in the history of the NBA and despite turning 34 years old in September, still looks to be one of the most dominant players in the league.
While the Nets are going to do what is best for their organization, accepting the best offer that is presented to them; they are looking for two All-Star players and draft compensation as they feel Durant is worth at least that much.

Where could he end up? According to Tim Bontemps of ESPN, there are two teams that Durant has in mind; the Phoenix Suns and Miami Heat.
“Phoenix is the place he wants to go, I feel reasonably confident of that,” said Brian Windhorst on his podcast. “I think Miami is second. What I’m not confident over is that Phoenix is going to be able to give Brooklyn what they want. And I’m also not confident in what Brooklyn is going to prioritize.”
There have been some rumors that an offer of Deandre Ayton in a sign-and-trade, Cam Johnson and Mikal Bridges with draft picks are on the table. But, the Nets are reportedly asking for Devin Booker from the Phoenix Suns in any Kevin Durant trade package.

Bam Adebayo was mentioned as a target from the Miami Heat, but Brooklyn is not allowed to acquire him, as they already have a Designated Rookie in Ben Simmons. Without Adebayo being included, the best offer Miami can probably put together is Duncan Robinson, Tyler Herro, three picks and cap filler.
