The Miami Heat fell just short of the 2022 NBA Finals, losing to the Boston Celtics in seven games in the Eastern Conference Finals. Miami had an excellent season, finishing first in the conference and will be on the lookout for players that can help get them over the hump.
With P.J. Tucker potentially leaving, as he declined his player option to become a free agent, the Miami Heat need to have contingency plans in place. One of those plans should involve Kyle Kuzma, who would be a strong replacement.
Miami could lose some firepower this offseason as Victor Oladipo is also set to become a free agent alongside Tucker. Both were integral parts of their rotation in the postseason. Replacing them won’t be easy but Kuzma would be a step in the right direction to achieve that.
His scoring prowess would be welcomed on a Miami Heat team that sometimes became stagnant and struggled to score the ball offensively. Miami is lacking scoring options in the frontcourt and Kuzma’s presence will help take pressure off of Jimmy Butler to carry the team on that end of the court.

A package of Duncan Robinson and a future first-round pick could be enough to get the Wizards to at least discuss parting ways with Kuzma. While Miami has been linked to some of the bigger names on the trade market, acquiring a solid complementary player in Kuzma and not parting ways with all of their assets could be the way to go.
