The 2022 NBA offseason for the Washington Wizards is going to be a very important one. The future of the franchise is hanging in the balance in some sense as their best player Bradley Beal could opt to leave the team in free agency.
Beal has a player option for the 2022-23 season that is worth $36.4 million. It is widely expected that he will decline that with an eye toward securing a long-term contract. He has said that he wants to play for the team that gives him the best chance to win. Whether that is Washington or somewhere else remains to be seen.
If Beal does return to the Wizards, the front office will do whatever it can to continue upgrading the talent to build a winning roster around him. But, if he decides that he is going to sign elsewhere, the franchise is going to be entering a rebuild.
That would mean that other players could be on the move as well. One player who could fetch a lot of interest on the trade market is Kyle Kuzma. He was excellent in his first season in the nation’s capital, averaging 17.1 points to go along with 8.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game.

Kuzma possesses enough 3-point shooting that teams have to respect him on the perimeter. He is an improving defender as well, capable of defending both forward spots and players on the wing.
