Last year, this team didn’t really have one. They regularly ran Pascal Siakam at the 5, allowing them to deploy multiple big wings at one time. To a degree, it was successful. With that said, this team didn’t get out of the first round of the NBA playoffs.

If they aspire to more in 2022-23, adding Turner should help. He’s one of the league’s best rim protectors, and as a 34.9% career three-point shooter, he won’t compromise this team’s floor-spacing either.

Furthermore, if Anunoby is truly dissatisfied, Turner is a great return for a distressed asset. Any time you can receive value for an unhappy player, you should jump at the opportunity.
