Washington Wizards Receive: G/F Ben Simmons, 2023 First-Round Pick (MIA), 2023 First-Round Pick (PHI via BKN)
Miami Heat Receive: G Bradley Beal
Brooklyn Nets Receive: G Kyle Lowry, G Tyler Herro

This deal would appear irresistible to the Miami Heat. They’re shedding Lowry’s burdensome contract, and adding arguably the best player involved in the exchange in the process. Would it work for the other two sides?

It ought to work for the Nets. They’ll be pairing Herro with Irving to make one of the most talented backcourts in the league. They just need Irving to consistently show up for work. Backing Kevin Durant with an Irving/Herro backcourt sounds like a recipe to get this group back in contention.

Whether this works for the Washington Wizards is a little less certain. In all likelihood, it would depend on their estimate of Ben Simmons.

If they see him as a potential cornerstone, getting him and two first-round picks for Beal and his soon-to-expire contract feels like a steal. On the other hand, if they’re wary of Simmons, they may determine that they’re better off looking elsewhere.
